This Motorcycle Trip Turned Into a Nightmare…

I recently undertook my most ambitious adventure yet: camping for the first time while riding the Welsh TET (Trans Euro Trail) solo on my CRF300L, and, naturally, it was chaotic from the start.

From overpacking a duffel bag with “essentials” (yes, I do need a full tea setup) to navigating 30+ gates in a single day, it was a learning curve made of equal parts laughter, frustration, and genuine growth. I forgot spare clothes, overloaded my bike, and even managed to drain the battery by obsessively using the kill switch at every gate. Not ideal.

But here’s the thing, adventure doesn’t start when you have all the answers. It begins when you decide to show up, even if it’s in the rain, overloaded, and wildly underprepared. And it turns out, sometimes the best moments come between breakdowns, unexpected cat cafés, and high-kicking your way through rural Wales.
