If there’s one thing the Isle of Arran does well, it’s history wrapped in adventure. In this episode, I set out to track down dinosaur footprints and uncover ancient ruins—but the day took a few turns I wasn’t expecting. From soaking wet boots to surprise waterfalls, this was one of those rides that reminded me why we do this in the first place.
The roads were rough, the trails were rugged, and the Iron Age fort I was hoping to find? Blocked by storm damage. But just when I was ready to call it a loss, I stumbled into one of the island’s hidden gems: Glenashdale Falls.
There’s something magical about these unplanned moments, where a detour becomes the highlight. It’s not always about making it to every stop. Sometimes it’s the wild path, the soaked socks, and the sheer freedom of wandering that make the best memories.
Watch the full ride, including the dinosaur site, my off-foot hike through the forest, and that jaw-dropping waterfall.
