REVEALED: Royal Enfield’s Flying Flea C6 and S6

Last night, in the heart of Milan, Royal Enfield unveiled its brand-new electric motorcycle brand, Flying Flea. As a motorcycle enthusiast, attending this landmark launch just ahead of EICMA was electric.

The launch party marked a decisive moment for Royal Enfield as it entered an entirely new journey in the EV space. Previously known for iconic mid-sized motorcycles that have defined “pure motorcycling,” the brand is now ready to redefine urban mobility with a stunning lineup of electric models.

The Heritage of Flying Flea, Reimagined for Today’s Rider

The Flying Flea name might sound familiar to fans of classic motorcycles. Originally built in the 1940s, the Royal Enfield Flying Flea was a lightweight, all-terrain machine designed to be dropped from planes via parachute for the British army during WWII. Thanks to its agility and nimbleness, it became popular with civilians for urban exploration—a heritage alive and well in the new electric Flying Flea lineup.

Enter the Flying Flea C6 and S6

Royal Enfield’s two debut models—the classic-styled Flying Flea C6 and the scrambler-inspired Flying Flea S6—were showcased at the Flying Factory launch party in Milan, giving us a taste of what’s in store for the EV market in the upcoming years. Designed as “city+” motorcycles, these models offer a powerful, fun, and accessible urban riding experience with a classic aesthetic that remains unmistakably Royal Enfield. The C6 will hit retail in Spring 2026, bringing Royal Enfield’s “pure motorcycling” ethos to the EV world.

“City+” Electric Riding with a Retro-Futuristic Touch

Siddhartha Lal, Managing Director of Eicher Motors (Royal Enfield’s parent company), took the stage and shared his excitement about this new venture. The brand has always been about the joy of motorcycling. Flying Flea is Royal Enfield’s way of evolving that experience for a new generation of riders. Especially those looking for sustainable, tech-forward options.
“Flying Flea allows riders to break free,” said Mario Alvisi, Royal Enfield’s Chief Growth Officer for Electric Vehicles.

Royal Enfield designed the bike with the modern city rider in mind. The company described the machine as a “city+” bike, with the idea behind it being a machine that offers the ability to travel around the city a little bit further. At the launch party, the CEO gave the example of a day trip to Lake Como from Milan.

Highlights of the FF-C6: Where Tradition Meets Tech

The Flying Flea C6, inspired by the original wartime Flea, has been reimagined for the urban electric rider. Some of the features of the bikes were:

  • Forged Aluminum Girder Fork: This fork is a fresh twist on the classic ‘rubber band’ girder fork, giving the bike a unique look that nods to vintage style with a modern edge.
  • Flowing Forged Aluminum Frame: Lightweight yet strong, this frame design brings out Royal Enfield’s classic lines in a sleek, updated form.
  • Magnesium Battery Case with Cooling Fins: The battery case is functional and stylish. The cooling fins on the front represent innovation, while the rear fins bring in a touch of tradition. Together, they flow into a graceful wing-like shape, blending the best of Royal Enfield’s past and future.
  • Round Touchscreen Cluster: This display keeps the classic round style but adds modern functionality, giving you the best of both worlds.

The concept of the Flying Flea is a machine that incorporates design elements from historical machines with something entirely new and fresh. For example, the Girder fork is a tribute to pre-1930s motorcycles, but at the same time, it has been given a sleek update, and the entire bike has been constructed from the ground up to offer a distinct, one-of-a-kind riding experience.

Bespoke Tech and Endless Possibilities

Royal Enfield has spared no expense on technology for the Flying Flea models, with 28 patents filed in the last six months alone. Developed in-house, the Flying Flea models come equipped with:

  • Vehicle Control Unit (VCU): The bike’s brain, this custom chip integrates all digital and physical touchpoints, allowing for over 200,000 ride mode combinations.
  • Advanced Connectivity: Seamlessly integrate your phone as a key, with over-the-air updates, ride monitoring, and enhanced security to alert you if the bike is moved.
  • Ride Mode Customization: Adjust throttle, brake, and regenerative braking to suit your preferences, whether you’re looking for economy, comfort, or pure fun.

These advancements mean Flying Flea riders can tailor their ride precisely to their mood or the road ahead.

The Joy of Accessible, Exciting Electric Riding

True to its city-friendly mission, the Flying Flea lineup promises a thrilling “twist-and-go” acceleration with a generous lean angle, ABS, cruise control, and a lightweight frame that’s easy to handle. Fast-charging capabilities make charging a breeze, so quickly power up and head out into the city. The riding experience is designed to feel natural and responsive, regardless of skill level.

Royal Enfield’s Vision for a Sustainable Future

This isn’t just a new brand—Flying Flea represents an entire mindset shift within Royal Enfield. B Govindarajan, CEO of Royal Enfield, emphasized that the Flying Flea brand is the product of years of research and investment. Royal Enfield has assembled a world-class setup for its EV venture, from its state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in Chennai to a dedicated team of over 200 engineers in India and the UK. The brand even announced an investment in Stark Future, a Barcelona-based company renowned for its off-road electric motorcycles, signalling a commitment to innovation and sustainability.
