We thought Day 4 of our NC500 adventure would be a relaxing break from the road. We checked into a cabin, finally got a hot shower, and even dried my socks (for about 5 minutes). But, being us, things didn’t stay “restful” for long. From searching for deer that didn’t exist to an ill-fated trip to a freezing waterfall, this “rest day” turned into a battle against hypothermia and wet socks.
