Motorcyclists ride for a variety of reasons. We all have our reasons for riding a motorcycle, and they tend to vary from person to person. However, here are my top reasons why I love being a biker chick.
I recently became a biker chick 16 months ago and I’ve been enjoying myself so much. I can’t imagine living a life without a motorcycle. I’ve covered such a large amount of distance in such a short space of time and I’m still ready to take on the world.
Why not watch my YouTube video here about what I got up to in my first year as a biker chick?
Reason 1: Sheer Passion
Everything that makes your heart beat faster is probably worth doing. Riding a motorcycle is more than simply a hobby; it’s a passion. I genuinely want to travel worldwide on my motorbike and see everything. When it comes to being a biker chick, there’s just this insane drive inside of me to want to accomplish unimaginable miles, routes, and terrains. From day one, from taking my first trip up to Scotland to riding around the UK’s most dangerous in Winter, I knew that this was a passion that wouldn’t subside soon. It’s not a hobby when it comes to riding my SV650 motorcycle. It’s a lifestyle. My entire world revolves around my bike.
Reason 2: being a biker chick means freedom
Riding a motorcycle gives me a feeling of liberation. I’m in complete control of the situation. When I start up my bike, I feel as if I’m not just riding; I’m soaring with no defined boundaries to stop me. Being a biker chick means I have complete flexibility; I can go anywhere. It allows me to be myself without asking anyone’s permission.
I know it may seem like a cliche, but it’s true: I experience the open air with the wind blowing through my hair when I’m on my bike. I get to enjoy all the countryside in all its intense vivid colours. The sound of the engine as it roars through forests.
There’s something about motorcycles that screams freedom. The wind in your hair, the sun on your face and the feeling of being one with the road. It’s an incredible sensation. For some, it’s a way of life. A motorcycle is more than just a machine; it’s a symbol of hope, adventure and liberty. It represents a journey and the hope of discovering something new. It’s the perfect way to see the world.
Reason 3: The biking community is limitless
Motorcycling is a common bond that keeps friends together through thick and thin. I’ve had a lot of hobbies in my lifetime, from running to powerlifting to bodybuilding. However, bikers have a special bond with the community. You’ll genuinely only ever encounter this in the biking community.
You only need to ride past another biker on the road and exchange a nod to know that you have an entire community behind you. I can guarantee that if you break down at the side of the road, it will be only a matter until another biker pulls up alongside you.
You will meet some of the friendliest biker chicks on your road trips. When motorcyclists ride together, they greet one another even if they don’t know each other, which is not something that happens in cars. There’s always a connection between motorcyclists from any place when they join forces.
They are always there to help each other at any point in time. It makes you less introverted as it is the best way to socialise and know new people during two-wheeled events, including bike shows, rallies and other rider get-togethers.
Reason 4: Riding a motorcycle releases Stress
As the old saying goes, you’ll never see a motorcycle parked outside a psychiatrist’s clinic. Motorbiking is a great stress release.
Many other biker chicks also describe their bike as their therapist because, after every ride, motorcycles make you feel energised and refreshed. It allows you to have your own space while still allowing time to forget about everything else.
There are many ways to relieve stress, but motorcycling is one of the most fun and exciting. You will get to enjoy the wind in your face and the scenery as you zip by, but you’ll also get a great workout. And let’s not forget the mental benefits of motorcycling. Studies have shown that motorcycle riders have increased levels of concentration and focus.
So if you’re looking for a great way to reduce stress, why not try motorcycling? You might find that it’s the best decision you’ve ever made!
Reason 5: You can accomplish anything on a motorcycle
Motorcycles can go to almost any place. Don’t trust me? Open your map, choose a destination, pack your luggage, and you’re ready to go. Whatever you want to do, or wherever you want to be, there’s a motorcycle. Do you want to go track riding? or perhaps you want to head up to the Scottish wilderness? Maybe you want to jump over some rocks. There are different kinds of bikes for every adventure.
There are different kinds of motorcycles for every type of rider. There’s a bike for you, from the track-focused superbikes to the long-distance tourers. And if you can’t find one that fits your fancy, you can always build your own. If you want to do low-cost adventures, you can also go motorcycle touring.
Motorcycles are also a great way to explore the world around you. On a bike, you can go places that cars can’t access and see sights that you would never be able to see from behind
Reason 6: Being a biker chick can improve your mental health
Contrary to popular belief, a rider’s brain becomes more active when riding a Motorcycle. When you ride your motorcycle daily, it has mental and emotional health advantages. It aids in reducing stress and the ability to get out of sadness. Bikes are mystical in that they can transform tragedy into victory. When you’re on your motorcycle, you’re in the moment. You’re focused on the road and the task at hand. You’re not worried about what’s happening at work or home. You’re not thinking about your to-do list. You’re present, and that’s good for your mental health.
Riding a motorcycle improves mental health by :
- Reducing stress
- Improving focus and concentration
- Helping to distract you from any stress
- Enhancing creativity and problem-solving skills
- Increasing self-confidence and self-esteem.
Reason 7: Being a biker chick means better physical health
Motorcycling helps to improve your physical health. Since it is a form of outdoor activity, it helps to improve your cardiovascular system. Additionally, it also helps to improve your coordination and balance.
Not many people know this, but motorcycling is a great workout. It works out your legs, arms, and back. If you ride regularly, you will notice a difference in your muscle tone. When you ride, you use your whole body to control the bike as you lean around corners.
When people have various injuries, they tend to forget about their discomfort when riding. All of the activities involved in biking, such as shifting it at low speeds, help strengthen abdominal muscles and support stronger knees and thighs. Preparing equipment ahead of time or washing your motorbike takes effort. Maintaining your balance while riding is a challenge.
Additionally, being outdoors in the fresh air is excellent for your physical health because it helps improve your respiratory system.
Reason 8: motorcycling is fun
All of you would agree with the fact that Motorcycles are fun to ride. There is a lot of entertainment filled within it that awaits you to get it out. You can pull those amazing wheelies or stoppies by just playing with the throttle. The best part is that it is quite easy to do all this on a motorcycle. Just be careful while trying out new things and you will enjoy every moment of it.
Riding my motorcycle is an adrenaline-pumping experience. Every time I rev the engine, I can feel the power and strength of my engine and I love it. When you’re riding a bike, you get to feel the wind in your face as you speed down the motorway or a-roads. It is an exhilarating feeling that is hard to replicate. And when you’re done with your ride, the sense of accomplishment is unlike any other.
Reason 9: Riding Your Motorcycle can help You Save at the Pump
Motorcycles are a significant money-saver when compared to using cars every day. With the increasing costs of petrol and automobile upkeep, many individuals are turning to motorbikes for fuel savings. Every time you ride your bike over your car, you’re saving a lot more on fuel.
For example, it costs me around £15 to fill my motorcycle completely up to the top. A full tank will get me around 150 miles. I don’t know about you but there isn’t really much you can do for £15 these days, especially a full day of entertainment.
This means that long trips and adventures are much more affordable than it would be to take the train or a plane somewhere. It also means I can carry my tent with me and cut back on accommodation costs too.
